This program serves as an introduction to the field of archeology. Through a series of slides and short talks Wayne will cover a number of topics such as Texas natural regions, how culture works in archeology, historic Native American tribes, archeological time periods, projectile points (arrow heads), and how anyone can become an archeologist!
Wayne Clampitt a retired TxDOT cartographer of 32 years, and a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin with a degree in Anthropology/Archeology. He has been an Archeological Steward with the Texas Historical Commission since 2006 and lives in Dripping Springs. He is married with 4 sons, none of which care much about archeology…
