About Matthew Gonzales:

Matthew’s journey with the Hays County Local Health Department began in 2021 as an intern, where he provided crucial support during the COVID-19 pandemic. In December of the same year, he transitioned to the role of program manager, leading the development of the Health Equity and Community Engagement program and overseeing the department’s inaugural Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan. In May 2023, Matthew was promoted to Hays County Local Health Department Manager.

Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration (2021) and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (2023) from Texas State University. His unwavering passion for workforce development and health equity defines his career.
